Teaching
A renowned and committed educator, Steven has become one the most successful and highly sought after low brass teachers. He was previously Adjunct Professor of Tuba/Euphonium at Texas Southern University and led the most competitive private low brass studio in the greater Houston area. Steven regularly appears as a guest clinician, coach and masterclass instructor, and his students have gone on to win fellowships at summer festivals and receive scholarships from top music schools.
Former student Connor Shimbashi won 1st Place in the Texas Tuba Competition. Connor received a free Eastman 6/4 tuba as the first place prize.

Former Student Aiden Keiser received scholarships from Indiana University, Oberlin Conservatory, University of Houston, and Bowling Green State University. He currently attends Indiana University and he recently won the Principal Tuba position with the Evansville Philharmonic.
